Privacy Policy

The short version
Your voice is never stored — audio is processed live and discarded. Transcripts and scores are saved so you can see your progress, and they belong to you. No ads, no analytics trackers, no selling of data, ever. You can use Aplomb without an account and ask us to delete everything at any time.
1. Who we are
Aplomb (the app and this website) is operated by Cherry Home Unipessoal Lda., a company registered in Portugal (“we”, “us”). We are the data controller for the personal data described in this policy. You can reach us at hello@tryaplomb.com.
2. What we collect
- Account information. You can use Aplomb without creating an account — we assign an anonymous identifier to keep your progress. If you register, we store the email address you sign up with.
- Practice sessions. Transcripts of your practice conversations, the scores and coaching feedback generated from them, and your progress statistics (streaks, milestones, per-category trends).
- Situation Prep descriptions. What you tell us about an upcoming conversation so we can build your custom scenario.
- Purchase status. Whether you have an active subscription. Payments are processed by Stripe (or by Apple’s App Store / Google Play when you subscribe in-app) — we never see or store your payment card details.
- Basic technical data. Device type and error logs, used only to keep the app working reliably.
- Launch waitlist. If you leave your email on our “coming soon” page, we store it for one purpose: a single email telling you the app is live. We don’t use it for marketing, and you can ask us to remove it at any time.
3. Your voice
Practice conversations happen out loud, so your microphone audio is streamed in real time to Google’s Gemini AI service, which powers the live conversation and produces the transcript. We do not store your audio — once the session ends, only the text transcript remains.
4. How we use your data
- To run your practice sessions and generate coaching feedback.
- To show your scores, history, and progress over time.
- To apply free-tier limits and unlock paid features.
- To respond when you contact us for support.
We do not sell your data, show you ads, or use third-party analytics trackers.
5. Who processes your data
We use a small number of service providers to operate Aplomb:
- Google Firebase — authentication and database. Your account data, transcripts, scores, and progress are stored here.
- Google Gemini — real-time voice conversation and coaching analysis. Your audio is processed live (never stored) and transcripts are analyzed to generate your feedback.
- Stripe — payment processing for subscriptions purchased on the web. Stripe handles your payment details under its own privacy policy; we only receive your subscription status.
These providers process your data on our behalf to provide the service, under their respective data processing terms. Data is encrypted in transit.
6. Retention and deletion
We keep your data for as long as your account exists so your progress is there when you return. You can request deletion of your account and all associated data — transcripts, scores, everything — by emailing hello@tryaplomb.com. We handle every request personally and confirm when it’s done.
7. Your rights
If you are in the European Economic Area (and in most other places), you have the right to access, correct, delete, and receive a copy of your personal data, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to withdraw consent at any time. Email hello@tryaplomb.com to exercise any of these. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your supervisory authority — in Portugal, the CNPD (Comissão Nacional de Proteção de Dados).
8. Children
Aplomb is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them. If you believe a child under 13 has used Aplomb, contact us and we will delete their data.
9. Changes to this policy
If we make material changes, we will update this page and the “last updated” date, and flag significant changes in the app.
